Than Bok Khorani National Park covers the area around 104 square kilometers of Ao Luek and Mueang Krabi District, Krabi Province. The geography around this area is the rainforest with the stream flows through the mountain, perfect for relax. Besides, there are many caves found in this area, and inside the cave are filled with ancient painting which were used in ceremony. Than Bok Khorani was formerly known as "Than Asok" located at Moo 2, Ao Luek Tai Subdistrict, Ao Luek District, Krabi Province on an area of 60,000 square meters. It is a rainforest at the middle of the valley where the various kinds of wildlife live. There is also the stream that flows through the mountain in that area and directly enter the sea in Leam Sak Subdistrict, the upstream is Tham Nam Pud and Tham Phet Mountain in Ao Luek Nuea Subdistrict which is 4 kilometers northeast away. Then, the stream flows through Ao Luek Canal. In 1953, Mr. Viweak Chantharojwong, Governor of Krabi Province, came to visit Than Asok and came up with the idea to conserve it as a government property for people to use for recreation, and this place became government property ever since. After that in the late of 1953, Lieutenant General Bunyat Thebhadsadin Na Ayutthaya came and changed the name to "Than Bok Khorani" from now on.
